The Vitale Barberis Canonico wool mill presents an exclusive capsule created in collaboration with Drapers, the distributor for top-quality fabrics, a capsule including a unique selection of sustainable fabrics from the H.O.P.E. range, available at the best tailor’s shops and stores throughout the world.
The H.O.P.E. fabrics are the result of long-term study and research. Research of fibres with unusual, but natural colours, expressed in their purity, such as the particular Moretta wool from a Spanish breed of sheep, which is distinguished by the dark colour of its fleece. Or such as the red eri silk with its unusual orange colour, a unique fibre, sustainable and cruelty free, as it is harvested only once the butterfly has left its chrysalis to find nourishment from nectar and to reproduce.
Research carried out by Vitale Barberis Canonico does not stop here, but continues with its study of production processes to reduce the use of chemical products and dyes. This is the reason for choosing to look again at ancient techniques such as dyeing with natural pigments to offer a wider range of colours. It is a fascinating process carried out by infusing plants, flowers, leaves, roots, fruits and even bark to release their dyes in order to transform the colours of the fabrics.
