In the evocative surroundings of one of the most beautiful bookshops in the world, Daikanyama Tsutaya in Tokyo, the book “Sartoria Italiana” was presented, written by the Japanese journalist and writer, and also great connoisseur of classic men’s clothes, Yoshimi Hasegawa. The book, which publishing house Skira will also issue in Italian and English, takes a stroll through intimate portraits of 27 Italian tailors’ shops, which were collected over a period of three years by means of interviews with master tailors, who have also been immortalised by the English photographer Luke Carby. 27 Italian tailors’ shops, from the most famous to new, upcoming names, are included in the book, of which the wool mill Vitale Barberis Canonico is the main sponsor. A journey which takes us from north to south, immersed in the artisanal excellence of Italian haute couture.
