Once again, Vitale Barberis Canonico places the emphasis on sustainability and respect for the environment both of which have always been a priority for the company, recreating in its stand the magic atmosphere of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in London during Milano Unica. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Kew Gardens metaphorically represent the green lungs which help to maintain the balance between humans and the environment in urban areas. The Victorian architecture of the Temperate House and its unmistakable wrought-iron and glass structure, the greenhouse plants and some special effects generate a multi-sensorial experience to give visitors of the fair a few moments of magical relaxation. The garments created using Vitale Barberis Canonico fabrics are eye-catching among the plants and are perfectly integrated into the context to demonstrate their privileged relationship with nature.
For the Autumn-Winter 2023/24 season, Vitale Barberis Canonico presents various new qualities which are notable for the attention paid to the aspect of reducing their environmental impact.
The new pure wool worsted flannel in the H.O.P.E. range is GRS-certified, as it is created using 40% recycled fibres deriving from discarded wool mill fabrics, which, appropriately reworked, both as yarns and as fabrics, take on new life with an eye to a circular economy. Available in a range of plain mélanges, this flannel is ideal for the creation of suits and jackets combining elegance and awareness.
For outerwear garments offering thermal insulation and protection from the wind and the rain while still being breathable, Vitale Barberis Canonico renews its partnership with Thindown® with a new type of padding uniting RDS-certified duck down with DUPONT ™ SORONA®, a highly-insulating fibre of partially bio-based origin. The padding, blended with a windstopper and waterproof membrane, is available as backing for the iconic worsted and carded flannels produced by the wool mill.
With a view to a relaxed and informal style which nevertheless leaves nothing to chance, Vitale Barberis Canonico also proposes a capsule of fabrics developed for the creation of unlined overshirts. These are offered in macro fancies and plains, in weights ranging from feather-light to more consistent.
