The Vitale Barberis Canonico Wool Excellence Award 2015’s ceremony was held on October 14th, during the gala function in Sydney.
This year’s winner, coming from one of the major wool production’s areas, was the Desmond Manning & family’s farm “Miena”, from Lemond, Tasmania.
The award, at its second edition, means to promote the excellence of raw material and the production of wool according to sustainability criteria, supporting and encouraging Australian farmers in pursuit of maximum quality, and rewarding those who adopt the right practice in handling sheep and protecting the environment.

In recognition of the best wool clip according to Vitale Barberis Canonico’s criteria, the winner will be rewarded with a journey of twelve days in Italy with an exclusive tour of the woolen mill to meet the representatives of the mill itself and to experience firsthand the wonderful transformation of the raw material of the highest quality into the world’s finest fabrics.
