Vitale Barberis Canonico

After the success of the showroom in Via Fatebenefratelli 16, Vitale Barberis Canonico is consolidating its presence in Milan with the opening of a new space situated at 23 Via Solferino, in the centre of Brera. The new space, which is opened by appointment only, will be a point of reference for designers, tailors and people working in the clothing industry.

Together with the historical main office in Pratrivero, the Milan space will become the heart of the Vitale Barberis Canonico Fabric Academy, a project which promotes training sessions focussing on textiles and events dedicated to professionals from the sector and connoisseurs of great style. The centre will also be a space for presenting the wool mill’s new collections and hosting trunk shows by Italian and international tailors. A location in the capital of men’s style, where events of style cross-fertilisation will also be organised at which champions of Made in Italy will come together with Vitale Barberis Canonico to talk about excellence, design and to promote product culture. In addition, and for the first time for patrons, it will be possible to buy the fabrics created by Vitale Barberis Canonico.

This project, involving a space of approximately 300 sq.m. originated with the idea of a three-dimensional reproduction of the structure of weaving between warp and weft, the vertical and horizontal elements which create the design of the fabric. This concept is the inspiration for the internal design of the new space.

Along the wide corridor, a procession of pillars and architraves marks the succession of the spaces, recalling the canons of classic Italian architecture and the spacious entrance halls of Milan. There is also a bright, sunlit lounge opening onto the internal courtyard. The company values, which are retold on the walls of the space, are in line with the warm, sophisticated materials used in the finishings: marble, velvet, brass and wood tell of the historicity and of the ethereal elegance which is typical of Vitale Barberis Canonico products. The past is connected with the present, with an eye on the future with… a twist.
