Vitale Barberis Canonico

Miena

In 1953 Desmond and Lois Manning moved into the Miena property in Lemont. This region in Tasmania, famous for its ultra-fine wools, can boast considerable biodiversity, with verdant pastures alternating with vegetation typical of the plains.
Miena extends to cover 3,500 hectares, on which more than 12,000 superior breed Saxon Merino sheep are set to pasture. Over the years this family-led company has created a wool fiber that boasts qualities and characteristics perfect for Vitale Barberis Canonico. Today Desmond, 91, works alongside his son Michael, grandson James and daughter Marie Boadle, continuing to raise the best Saxon Merino sheep and produce the highest quality wool possible, without compromise.
